OUR PRACTICE |
||||||||
| We aspire to benefit others, and if we cannot, at least not to harm anyone; and to practice all good qualities and transform negativity. In addition, each member may have his or her own private commitments and practices given by their individual teachers. In general we also try to follow the advice and example of His Holiness The Dalai Lama in all our actions of body, speech and mind as well as we can. We aspire to apply this attitude to all group policies and activities and if anyone identifies a discrepancy, kindly let us know. In particular, we espouse the principles of devotion to one’s teacher, inclusivity, enquiry, respect for all beings, openness, transparency and accountability.
The INGO Accountability Charter commitmentWe uphold the International NGO Accountability Charter 2006, a code of conduct defining ethical standards for organisational behaviour. Though not Buddhist itself, in this day and age its standards appear compatible and consistent with Dharma. JSG commends this charter to organisations professing concern with ethics and international good practice. |
